First frost

November 18th, 2005

Walking home I glanced skyward, and way, way up was the biggest V of geese I’ve ever seen, flying silently, deliberately South against a backdrop of grey. I stood still in the parking lot of the market, just watching them. People around me gave me looks. I couldn’t help but think:how small we are, bustling about with our carts and our lunches. I couldn’t help but think, what matters, really?

Later our house offer was counter offered at a still too high price. More waiting. And talking. So much talking. I try to be patient, to think clearly. But my thoughts feel fractured like broken ice.

Thats a great picture and tie in. Our life takes turns and wanders in ways we can imagine or even understand for times to come sometimes month even years later something will be come clear that until then eluded us. If this does not happen more things will come. Trust in the guidence of our world. Our house we thought if everything went through it would be the right move, then contractral defects…but on the other hand much good. Mixed faces, masks of different colors. Hang in there.

Today I watched five pelicans flying stately overhead, toward the sea.

And then we sold our house. Today!

I wonder if, in this great karmic cosmos, this means that you will buy yours soon.

Don’t mean to be Pollyanna when I know only too well the mix of emotions you’ve got going on– but if you can keep a mantra going– know that it’s all going to work out even better than you could have imagined. And keep seeing you and hubs and the Bean in your joyful new home (but don’t attach to any one place– just focus on the feeling)— you will attract it to you. The law of attraction and all that— I know, it sounds SO f*cking pollyanna– but it truly does work. Try to shift your energy to the positive. Focus on (and be grateful for) ALL that you have right now– and more will come to you— BIG HUGS.

    i’ve got to tell you
that if you went back and read my blog
    at the very beginning
you would read yourself in my words
because we so went thru then
    what you are now
    and it is soooo debilitating…
all i wanted to do was sit and daydream
    and doodle and write
i was in a total state of flux
and we had a lot of ups and downs too
but eventually, it all came thru…
i hope the same happens for you,
    its such a stressful time…
its actually the very reason i even
started a blog, just to vent and rant
about the stress of it all…
    good luck
    :)

What a bummer that your offer wasn’t accepted. But what BP says up there is SO TRUE. We went through the same thing when we were househunting and then through the decision to build and the wonderfulnightmare that housebuilding is. Hang in there, sweetie!

Took six months for us to get this place. Had it happened when we wanted it to, we wouldn’t have had the funding like we thought we would. Trust in the universe on this, girl. It will go exactly as it is meant to be. Pinky swear!

We went through the same ordeal two years ago and in the end we lost the house. Even though I was heartbroken everything worked out for the better — we found a different house that we now call home, a home that provides space for Stryder and Makenna (the other home wouldn’t have allowed this space) and a neighbourhood that is absolutely wonderful. We’ve made friends that we would have never made if our first house offer had been accepted. It’s like the universe knew our future and put us in the space that we needed.

Alas, I have no house wisdom of my own, but will hold out hope for you - and giggle that my fairyblogmother, E, has so taken you under her voluminous pink angel wings.

And the photo! Leaves me breathless.
