Growing

Posted on | March 24, 2006 |

The sun made me happy today. Bean & I went to the park and I think he felt it too: that glorious springtime light splashing our cheeks and making shadows look like blue cut-outs in a collage. We squinted and laughed and climbed the jungle gym and then went for a latte and a vanilla milk.

He’s becoming his own little self. Thoughtful, interested, pointing out everything. It seems like this past week all of a sudden he’s started to notice the most minute details in things. He points to airplanes in the sky—and last night we came home late and I cradled him in my arms so he could see the big night sky and he pointed up at the stars and started babbling excitedly, turning his head as we walked up the steps to the porch, so that he could get one last glimpse before we came inside.

And you’ve got the best seat in the house to watch this all unfold…

Isn’t it great to see them expanding like that? Oliver’s just starting to crawl and his world has taken a whole new shape. There are so many things for him to touch and see…and to pull on to himself… ;)

I’m actually not sure what color his eyes are–they’re sort of gray-green-blue-brown! Ha! DH’s eyes are a beautiful topaz brown and mine are blue. Bean’s seem to be a mix? In the sunlight they did look very green!

It sounds like Bean might have hazel eyes - I think they are the best (and Husband has them, of course.) I love it when he has a ‘green eye’ day. Bean’s hair seems to be growing longer, or maybe it’s just not hidden under a hat!

Looks like your little guy has eyes the same color as Samar. Samar’s are gray-brown with flecks of green. There are brown or gray-eyed days and the specks of green show when he is happy or up to mischief.

I love to check in and read these posts. I too am in CT and the cold has this mommy longing for sun to let the kiddos play in and warm my soul.

What a great day…and life! Isn’t crazy how quickly they change…one minute babies taking in the world then little people the next exploring it.

What a pleasant spring day! Thanks for sharing. I am so excited for my little B to start to discover his world, make observations and draw our attention to his discoveries.
