Frenzy

DH and I have realized that we really, really, need super powers to finish the house. Baring that possibility, it won’t be finished when we move in. So we’re at the point of creating priority lists: we need a shower, washer, dryer, toilet, sink. We need floors. Currently we have none. GAAHHHHHH!
Here are some pretty pictures to distract you while I work.
Oh, and did I mention, it’s STILL raining? The basement in our apartment is under 8 inches of water…along with all of our boxes in “storage.” When it rains, it pours, right?

What a pretty pretty house sitting on a hill!! Oh how cool! I love the slate. We tiled our back porch with slate tile - such a beautiful piece of nature.

It’s so lovely surrounded by spring greenery & blooms. And I looooooove the tile floor, great colors.

I hate to break the news, but a house is NEVER “finished.” I’d say the toilet is the top priority, there, the rest you can manage even after you move in. When we moved in to our house, it was only half finished. There was no floor in half the house. But we had a kitchen and 1 bathroom (and admittedly, laundry facilities). Anders did the rest after we were in, and we just moved boxes around until it was finished. The 2nd bathroom wasn’t done until 2 YEARS later.

That is gorgeous tile!
Sorry to hear about the water - I hope you don’t lose anything too irreplacable!

it boggles my mind that someone i know lives in a place as beautiful as this — i love how quaint and charming the house looks up on its hill. if you finish the bathroom I’ll come help with the rest

Sorry to hear it’s still raining (and about your flooded basement)…but, oh, it’s so lush and green!

Ugh. Water in the basement? Did you get your stuff out of there?

I sure hope the RAIN has stopped for you up there! I thought it would never end either. I love rainy days, but after a while—yikes, you just need some sun. Down here (in Connecticut), almost every day the sun would peek out, like it was struggling so valiantly to get past the thick cloud cover..
I wish you SUN and good sleep after hard work and the strength to keep plugging along!
(I always wanted to ask—where in CT were you before? I am in Milford/grew up in Stamford)
