You have hit the mothering jackpot - a potty trained kid! I know the GBK is still working on this and can do it in theory, but still relies on Pullups some of the time. But I am so excited for you and the Bean! What a smart boy he is. (Just like his mama, of course.)

Congrats! My son, now 3, just decided to use the potty one day as well. And never looked back. And neither did I. I kept him in big boy underwear and simply put a waterproof liner on his bed at night for accidents. For the accidents he had I came up with a plan: http://memoirsofamoorings.typepad.com/memoirs_of_a_moorings/2006/10/potty_ooops.html. And when we go out, I find out where the bathroom is FIRST. Every kid is different, but encouragement works all the way around!

Wow! Congrats! Keep up the good work. Just keep him nekkid (or in underpants) and drinking and going every 30-60 minutes. I'd use pullups at nighttime and naptime for a while. And keep your sense of humor. My dd trained herself like this. Awesome!

If you're worried about taking him places, you can get those plastic underwear to put over his training pants so that if he goes, it won't soak his clothes. I used these with ds but not with dd. With her I just kept putting her on the potty whenever we go to where we were going.

Good luck!

We kept a potty in the car for a long time (and I suspect we will again before long) to handle the out and about stuff. Every kid is different. Like, Lily refused to wear diapers at night and we just went through about a week of switching out towels in the night and changing sheets in the morning. Then she was done. Others need to keep dipes on for a while to handle night time. Just follow your instincts and do NOT push it. If he feels like it's all his doing, he'll stick with it, I suspect.

YAY! So much fun.

OH, and I was totally not looking forward to it until it happened and then it was awesome. Go with it.

that is exactly how they say to potty train, GIVE THEM TONS TO DRINK and leave them half nakee so they can practice more. just keep giving him drinks tons. and let him keep going. awesome job!
okay with my first daughter she was such a heavy sleeper she wet the bed til age 5. my 2nd daughter was dry at 9 months old on. it depends on the kid. i would put him to sleep in underwear so he thinks he is doing it. then maybe slip a pull up on over the underwear for a just in case? unless you notice he is still soaked in the morning. then just do a diaper....after he falls asleep. of course these are just my opinions. you have to do what works for you.
i would keep a potty chair in the car for those times when you have absolutely nowhere to go. and wipes. lots of em. and extra clothes. lots of those too. but for a few days i just would plan on not going anywhere til he has it completely down! awesome work!
