Fluffy, tiny tufts of dandilion fuzz now live in a box in my garage. I’m smitten.

Aren’t they cute? Are they noisy? How long will they live in the box? I wrote to another blogger with new chicks that as a very young girl I visited my grandfather’s turkey hatchery. The building was full of stacks of boxes of new little peeps and the noise was deafening — multiply those little guys by thousands and they’re very loud!

This is wonderful! I was just wondering about that today as I was planting my garden… I wonder how the chicks are doing? What an adventure. :)

Are those Aruacanas? The Easter Egg layers? I love having chicks, get a new batch every year…they’ll hit the ugly teenage stage in about a month and you’ll wonder what the heck happened to the cute little balls of fluff!

Ah! This snaps me right out of lurking mode! How I want to have chickens…. I’m glad to read that school’s almost over, and very excited that you will be taking such a cool writing workshop! Isn’t summer the best?
