Sundown

Posted on | March 8, 2008 |

Took my camera with me to the waterfront with the boys for a walk.

Got the skunk scent out of my cat with a natural enzyme spray: no tomato baths necessary!

Woke up today with a splitting headache. Now I have a fever. I can thank the kiddos at work for this one. I am so ready for warmer weather. For being able to throw open the windows. For anything other than ice storms. I so hoped to post something longer today–I was facinated by your comments about the idea of living ‘perfectly’ and wanted to write more about what I meant. About trying to live the way one always hopes one will—someday, although the doing of that in the moment seems to get put off for lesser (and greater) things.

But now that I’m sick all I really want to know is: what movie should I rent tonight?

I’ve heard about ‘Once’ but haven’t seen it yet.. can’t wait.

If you’ve got a video store that carries TV shows, rent Flight of the Conchords, an HBO show about two musicians from New Zealand trying to make it in New York City. It’s hilarious. Lots on YouTube…

I’ve only seen 1/2 of Once. I had to return it before I could finish. I really liked “Diggers”. If Atonement is out, grab that.

It’s not new, but if you haven’t seen As It Is In Heaven, I can HIGHLY recommend it. It’s in Swedish, but worth reading subtitles!!

Oh, I’m sorry you’re sick. Man, children are such CARRIERS, aren’t they? :) We are all hoping that spring break gives the flu a chance to die out…or else everyone is just going to spread it around Disney World.

As for movies, we finally rented The Bourne Ultimatum last night. It was excellent - I love the Bourne movies, they’re like a thinker’s action movie - and so I highly recommend it.

We watched “Licence to Wed” last night to give us a break from too much seriousness and busy-ness in our lives. We both had a few good belly laughs but not the best movie overall.

If you haven’t seen it or haven’t seen it in awhile, I love The Count of Monte Cristo with Jim Caviezel (awesome!) For a light-hearted feel-good movie, I still like Where the Heart Is with Ashley Judd. Another more recent favorite is The Last Holiday with Queen Latifah (really like it for some reason). There is always Holiday with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz too.

I am on the verge of getting sick too. Daylight savings sure didn’t help either. Get well soon!
