Happy heart

A weekend trip south, to Blue Poppy’s, to spend time with wonderful Lizardek and her lovely mom, and Elizabeth and her T. Ambling walks in the sunshine with a crowd of golden pups. Every moment filled up with wonder and delight and gratitude: these women come from my planet.
Some days I feel entirely alien to the orbit of people I’m surrounded with at work. People who aren’t apt to contemplate karma, or Annie Dillard, or gel matte transfers, or the way light falls on a row of golden gourds on a vintage chest of drawers. But these women, they are brilliant, insightful, generous, and beautiful. They make my heart sing. (BP and I were mistaken for sisters several times, and it delighted me to no end. She is absolutely gorgeous. Inside and out.)
Not to mention is was lovely to sip wine until late and then slumber late without anyone to coax me awake (save for an invitation to see a moose). And also to be fed perfect blueberry pancakes with warm maple syrup and blueberries.

you have to come back with your “T” and Bean. And, I may even come to YOU because I just miss you so much. I’m going to the library today to get a copy of Pilgrim at Tinker Creek and Paula— those children you teach— they are the luckiest spirits on the planet. You are a goddess.
Well, you ARE soul sisters, to be sure. You are a lucky girl to have spent time with such lovely women - it makes me happy to think of the three of you together, giggling and talking over things -
Oh! And I’ve been meaning to tell you…I saw somewhere in some magazine that Isabel Allende has written another memoir…sort of life after Paula…must go find it on Amazon but I thought of you because I know you love Paula, too. I really like Allende’s nonfiction better than her fiction, perhaps because that’s what I read first.
Glad you had a lovely relaxing weekend. You do look a bit a like for the side of her face!
It’s always so good to escape with kindred spirits! And BP lives in a gorgeous gorgeous part of the world; I’m so jealous you got to see it up close (again)!
I forgot to tell you I bought a NOVEL by Annie Dillard last week, and she has another one out that I haven’t found yet. When I get home I shall once again re-read my favorite book of all time, just because of you guys. Why, WHY must we all live so far away? *sigh*
i just met elizabeth (officially–i’ve read her blog for some time) at artfest earlier this month…i didn’t get to spend as much time with her as i would have liked…but i instantly feel in love…
sounds delicious…

in every sense of the word…
