Shit. It was way harder than I thought to say goodbye to Bean. Damn. That kid has my heart.

It should never be any other way than “That kid has my heart.” Though my experience has been that giving away your heart ALways leads to heartbreak, I would never wish myself — nor anyone else — a harder heart. The trick instead, I have found, is to strengthen my soul to withstand heartbreak as well as endure the fullness of love.
